I found a song that has 3 new chords I have never played!
The Joke by Brandi Carlile (
Ka Waiata (I know this song but have not played it before. It has Bm which is a new chord for me)
Tutira Mai (my study group chose this song for us to learn together - it has B7, E7 and A7 which are new to me)

Include cultural diversity
For any waiata - learn the english translation of the songs. Find out the history of the song. Who wrote it? Why did they write it?
Reflection: video recording of me playing the songs to register progress - first go on 28/05. Slow progress, chords and strum harder than I expected. Fingers are hurting so makes playing difficult. Had day off playing chords and focused on strum.
Spent the morning of 29/05 with a friend who showed me how to strum, pick the strings and play the chords correctly. I got into the habit of using the fingers that were most comfortable for me but he says that it's better to learn the finger placement correctly because it makes it easier to transition between chords.
